Senior Planet from AARP at the Mirowitz Center

In 2023, the Mirowitz Center became the first Senior Planet from AARP licensed facility/organization in the state of Missouri and will be the only licensee in St. Louis County creating more technology program opportunities for older adults! VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOURS

Tour world-famous museums from the comfort of your home! Did you know many of the world's leading museums have been making their collections and exhibits available to view virtually? Mirowitz Center Trainer Daniel Landsbaum explores some of these virtual galleries, as well as digital tools that help bring art, architecture, and history to life! Curious about online petitions? Add your voice to the hundreds of thousands of petitions circulating every day to support causes that are important to you. In this hands-on workshop, Mirowitz Center Trainer Daniel Landsbaum demonstrates how to browse petitions, sign up for a Change.org account, and start your own petition!

INTRO TO HOSTING ON ZOOM

He'll go over what you need to launch your first virtual get-together, as well as some hosting tips to make it a success. WHAT'S CONGRESS UP TO? (Part 2 of 2)

In this hands-on 90-minute workshop, Mirowitz Center Trainer Daniel Landsbaum focuses on the GovTrack.us website and its main features: identifying elected representatives, seeing how they vote, and learning about bills. Walk through the sign-up process and establish GovTrack.us email alerts to hold lawmakers accountable! Advocate for the issues that are important to you!

STREAMING AND SMART TVs

Every day, more and more people “cut the cord” and cancel their cable subscriptions. Mirowitz Center Trainer Daniel Landsbaum will introduce streaming: what it is, how to watch TV without cable, and the variety of content available. Learn about Smart TVs and streaming services (like YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu) to watch favorite shows and movies online. No cost to register, but RSVP required.

GMAIL TIPS AND TRICKS

Do you want to do more than just send and receive emails? This workshop covers important Gmail features like spell-checking, formatting emails, searching your inbox, adding a signature, and attaching files. Mirowitz Center Trainer Larry Edison will combine demos and hands-on practice, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and try out different features.

Mirowitz Center Jim Salih will cover the basics, plus explain all your options and how to sign up.
