Rhode Island Communities Join AARP Age-Friendly Network

Posted on 11/01/25 by AARP Bulletin

Rhode Island communities are committed to becoming more livable for all ages, as more localities join the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. Barrington, East Providence, New Shoreham and Pawtucket are the most recent additions to the network in 2025.

When joining the network, local leaders commit to improving quality of life for residents of all ages — focusing on areas such as outdoor spaces, transportation, housing, social participation, civic engagement, communication and community and health services.
