Respite Grants Available for Caregivers

The state of Maine offers assistance to some family caregivers struggling with high out-of-pocket costs through Respite for ME Grants, a pilot program.

Qualified caregivers can apply for a grant of up to $5,171 to help with a wide range of expenses, such as in-home assistance, adult day center fees, housecleaning and yard work. Caregivers must participate in an assessment over the phone to determine eligibility.
