Rejuvenation and connection at Radiance Retreat
This winter, Women’s Wilderness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating space for girls, women, and non-binary people of all ages to connect to the outdoors, invites caregivers to a snowy retreat for respite and connection.
The Radiance Retreat* is a special event geared specifically to women and non-binary people of color who are 40 and older and providing care for youth, adult children and parents. It will feature shared meals, opportunities to engage with nature, shared art and culinary activities, yoga and much more in at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge in Allenspark, Colorado.
This is the second year that AARP Colorado has sponsored the retreat, which will take place from February 26 to March 1.
For more than half of Colorado’s 1 million-plus family caregivers, moderate to high levels of emotional stress are a reality.
“At last year’s retreat, caregivers formed new friendships,” Marissa Volpe, director of outreach, said. “The opportunity to connect with other caregivers, who are experiencing similar stressors, in an environment as rejuvenating as the Rockies is truly remarkable.”
AARP Colorado’s sponsorship of the program offsets individual fees/costs to participate. Space is limited, and registration is required through Women’s Wilderness.
