Take advantage of AARP’s Smart Driver course, a refresher tutorial that can be taken in person or online. If you complete the course, you could earn a discount on your automobile insurance (contact your agent to learn more).

Smart Driver, the nation’s first such program designed for people 50 and older, covers topics such as driving strategies, reducing distracted driving, effects of medication on driving, and using new car technologies.

The in-person class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Members also get a 20 percent discount on online courses, which allow students to work at their own pace, taking up to 60 days. Online courses are $19.95 for members and $24.95 for nonmembers.

For more information and a full schedule of classes this summer, go to aarp.org/drive.
