The end of tax season quickly is quickly approaching with a April 17 deadline to file your tax return. And while modern technology makes it possible to file a tax return online, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free, personal services that can assist you right here in San Antonio.
Tax-Aide’s 35,000 volunteers from across the country include IRS-certified tax experts. Trained each season, Tax-Aide volunteers know the ins and outs of the tax system and are passionate about helping members of their community. While the service is available to anyone, Tax-Aide can’t handle the taxes of businesses and accounts with complex returns, like rental properties or casualty losses.
Tax-Aide volunteers understand that tax season causes a lot of stress with a seemingly endless amount of forms. Completing those forms without the assistance of professionals creates a financial burden to . They are fostering an environment where you can come to their offices with as little or as much information about taxes that you know, and gain invaluable aid for this year’s tax season.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has 2,000 volunteers across 260 sites in Texas, with 12 locations within 30 miles of central San Antonio, stationed in libraries, malls, and community centers. The seven Tax-Aide sites inside San Antonio are Fort Sam Houston Library, Oasis at Morningside, The Wonderland Mall, Kirby Senior Center, Elvira Cisneros Senior Community Center, Leon Valley Community Center and Franklin Park Sonterra.
