Pride Is Ageless
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a particularly important milestone in the movement for LGBT rights. In recognition of this historic anniversary, AARP is celebrating Pride in Dallas with a series of free events for the community.
AARP is proud to celebrate the work of our LGBT community partners, including Ed-U-Care, the Turtle Creek Chorale, Lambda Legal, Gray Pride, the Coalition for Aging LGBT and many others.
Here’s where you can find AARP Texas during Dallas’ Pride Month (June 1-30)"
- Around city streets, with our “Pride Is Ageless” wrapped DART bus, throughout the month of June
- Atop our parade float, featuring Linze Serell, the winner of the inaugural 2019 Miss Ageless Pride drag pageant, at the Dallas Pride Parade at 2 p.m. on June 2
- Popping up with an interactive community mural dedicated to our Trans brothers and sisters around the Metroplex and at the Dallas Pride Festival on Saturday, June 1
- In theaters, for our screening of “Rocketman” at UA Galaxy Theater in Dallas on Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m.
- Across the Metroplex, screening “Before Stonewall” at the Fort Worth Modern Museum of Art on Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m.
Pride is ageless, and Pride is year-round.
