Healthy aging is much more than just staying fit. So join us at the Frick Environmental Center on Wednesday, May 22, where you'll learn how to become a Park Ambassador, keep active, and the benefits of volunteering on your health and community. You can also connect with AARP Pennsylvania at the Lincoln-Lemington Community Walk and Health Fair on Saturday, May 25, where we'll be talking about staying active so you can take on today and everyday.

The Park Ambassador Training will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. The event will be located at the Frick Environmental Center and lunch will be included. Learn how to lead an engaging and thoughtful walking program in our local parks! Hosted by Venture Outdoors, and The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, this half day training mixes discussions and group activities to teach the basics of trip planning and leading. Topics include: trip planning, risk management, and fun activities to engage your audience. A walk through the park at the end of our training will help put your skills into practice. Pre-Registration is required by visiting ventureoutdoors.org or emailing   Joanna Lemmon.

The 2nd Annual Lincoln-Lemington Community Walk and Health Fair will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event will be located at Destiny International Ministries at 7061 Lemington Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The goal of the walk and health fair is to bring awareness to the benefits of preventive care, and activities will include a 2-mile walk, line dancing, yoga, live music, and healthy food options.
