“Starting Medicare can be confusing and overwhelming.” said Kris Winterowd, ALTSD SHIP Benefit Counselor and Regional Coordinator. “There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to Medicare. It’s a matter of understanding the options and choosing the type of coverage that best fits your needs. It’s a pleasure to offer people the information and assistance they need

The free Medicare 101 workshops are held the last Wednesday of each month, starting in June, and introduce Medicare beneficiaries, their caregivers and family members to the benefits and how to navigate the complexities of the program.

After attending a recent workshop, participant Jennifer Pruett said, “Thank you for all your help. My husband and I are on the way to an exciting future, and your seminar, support and contacts really helped us get there. We would not be nearly as confident and relaxed as we are now if we had not attended your class. What a resource!”

The workshops are scheduled for June 22, July 23, Aug. 24 and Sept. 28, all from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
