New way to celebrate Pride in Texas
LGBT Pride Month is held in June. It was established after the 1969 Stonewall riots galvanized activists across the country and set into motion the modern LGBT movement — including pride.
This annual observance usually includes a variety of events, some big, some small, but all are inclusive and include a level of interaction with members of the community. You can imagine that COVID-19 changed those plans this year. Some of the changes include Dallas Pride organizers holding a virtual celebration on July 25-26 instead of having one in person while Pride Houston 2020 has been moved from June to the fall.
Other more life-changing deviations involve how state-wide organizations that assist members of the LGBT community in regards to counseling, emergency pantry services, addiction and recovery services, and more.
