ND Gov. Armstrong signs HB 1114 and HB 1447

Posted on 05/13/25

In 2025, AARP ND and our engaged volunteers are focused on four priorities: Fraud, prescription drug prices, affordable housing and property taxes. This legislative session we had wins in all four areas. While some of the legislation is still pending the Governor’s signature, two bills were signed by the Governor:

  • HB 1447 creates important consumer protections to save older North Dakotans from having their life savings stolen by criminals via cryptocurrency kiosks. HB 1447 passed both houses and was signed by the Governor on April 11, 2025.
  • HB 1114 expands the cap on out-of-pocket expenses for insulin and related medical supplies to the private insurance market to $25/month. Passed by the House and Senate, Gov. Armstrong signed this bill on April 4, 2025.
