Valentine’s Day is around the corner and love is in the air.

Lots of people meet friends and potential love interests online through dating sites, social media, or mobile apps. It can be a great way to begin relationships but be aware: not everyone is who they say they are online!

At this up close and personal AARP New Hampshire Tele-town Hall on February 8 at 10:30 am, you’ll hear from romance scam survivor Kate Kleinert.

Kate was wooed on Facebook by a handsome man who said he was a surgeon, but months later she was left with a broken heart and out $39,000. Now she’s doing something about it by being a victim advocate and sharing her story to help others avoid scams.

Kate will be joined by AARP Fraud Watch Network expert Liz Buser at this free tele-town hall event. Attendees will join by listening live at facebook.com/AARPNH or calling toll free: 833-380-0679. The format is like a radio call-in show and attendees will be able to ask their questions to our guests.

Ask your questions live or submit on Facebook.

You’ll leave this event armed with the information you need to spot the red flags of online relationship scams. If you can spot a scam, you can stop a scam.

To join us for this event, call 833.380.0679 at 10:30 am on February 8, or listen live at www.facebook.com/aarpnh.
