Meet Lonette Bolden-Smith, AARP Orlando’s Newest Walk with a Doc Leader
AARP Orlando welcomes Lonette Bolden-Smith, a certified care manager and registered nurse, as our newest Walk with a Doc leader. Lonette will host Walk with a Doc events in Ocoee on the first Friday of every month, beginning Jan. 2. Ocoee is the latest addition to AARP Orlando’s growing Walk with a Doc program, in partnership with The City of Ocoee and Vibrant West Orange.
Lonette’s brings more than 20 years of experience serving older adults, beginning her career as a social worker in a nursing home before expanding her clinical expertise as a registered nurse. After working in a hospital, she found her passion in care management – a field that blends her social work insight with nursing expertise — and now owns her own care management agency, LH Care Management. A Florida native from Palm Beach County, Lonette brings deep local roots and a strong commitment to community health.
Lonette is excited to lead Walk with a Doc in Ocoee next year. As a new AARP Orlando volunteer, she especially values the program’s blend of education, community, and active living – in addition to meeting her fellow AARP friends and colleagues. Her goal is for participants to leave each walk feeling motivated to move more, supported by others, and confident in the health benefits of walking together, especially for brain health, heart health and chronic disease management.
Curious about attending a walk? Lonette has one piece of advice: give it a try! Walk with a Doc is a free program open to everyone, and it’s an incredible way to boost your physical health while making new friends along the way.
We hope you’ll join Lonette and the team for Ocoee’s first walk on Jan. 2! To learn more, visit the Walk with a Doc, Ocoee homepage.
