Meet a Lawmaker at Our State House Reception
AARP Rhode Island will kick off the legislative session with a State Room reception at the State House on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 3:30 p.m.
The event is an opportunity to meet with lawmakers and talk about legislation that enhances the lives of Rhode Islanders 50 and older.
This session, AARP and its advocacy volunteers will focus on legislation aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs. A large turnout will drive home how important this issue is to Rhode Islanders.
At the reception, learn more about AARP’s State House advocacy and the difference our volunteers make for 50-plus Rhode Islanders.
Refreshments will be served. A free shuttle will be provided, departing at 3 p.m. from the AARP Rhode Island state office, at 10 Orms St., in Providence.
