Maplewood Bus Stop Transformation

AARP in St. Louis is teaming up with Citizens for Modern Transit, the City of Maplewood, Citizens National Bank and KaBOOM! to give the bus stop at Manchester and Marshall a bit of a facelift.

Through a national pilot program, AARP in St. Louis granted Citizens for Modern Transit funds to transform a bus stop in Maplewood. Through this collaborative effort, we are taking a space that separates bus riders from the rest of the community using that space. With the proposed project, not only will the space become more interactive and appropriate for people of all ages and abilities, it will improve the overall safety of the site with better visibility and lighting. While the design is not finalized, we expect that the transformation will look close to the design shown. It’s anticipated that the project will be completed before the end of March.
