Make an Impact with AARP Florida!

Are you knowledgeable in housing issues, passionate about creating positive change and ready to make a meaningful impact in your community? AARP Florida is seeking a dedicated volunteer to be part of their Executive Council and serve as a Caregiving Issue Expert.

The Executive Council member is part of a team of leadership volunteers who, under the guidance of the State President and the State Director, helps implement AARP’s strategic priorities within the state. Council members provide input on strategies for accomplishing the state plan, help to position AARP as an influential and trusted power in the state, and provide guidance and assistance on a variety of special projects that match the interests of the Council members with the priorities of AARP Florida.

A well-qualified applicant for the AARP Florida’s Executive Council:
• Possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise related to caregiving issues.

• Able to offer insightful strategies on caregiving matters.

• Should demonstrate proven leadership and a readiness to work collaboratively with staff and fellow volunteers.

• Actively respects and fosters diversity and inclusion.

•Eligible for AARP membership or associate membership in AARP.

The role requires a flexible time commitment, including a monthly scheduled conference call and biannual in-person meetings. Regardless of your location in Florida, we utilize web-based technology for meetings and trainings. Travel and other expenses are reimbursed.
