LGBTQ aging listening sessions scheduled

Posted on 06/28/24 by Ted Carey

Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Aging is holding listening sessions across the state this summer.

The commission says it's looking to hear from a diverse group of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and other identified (LGBTQ+) older adults, family, friends and allies. Commissioners want to know what is and isn’t working well for LGBTQ+ older adults and caregivers across the state.

The Commission focuses on a number of key areas including health, housing, and social connections for LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers and making recommendations to improve access to benefits and services where appropriate and necessary.

The commission says listening sessions enable real people to tell real stories to the commission members and those stories impact the commission’s work.
