Container Gardening: Designing for All Seasons!

Lorraine will show you how to create both basic and advanced naturalistic designs in containers. Finding your unique style along with your favorite colors will inspire you to begin a collection of potted plants for your outdoor space. Selection, design principles, maintenance and pests will be covered. A demonstration will follow the presentation as well as a question and answer period.


Indoor Container Gardens: Flowers, Plants and Herbs

Living in New England our growing season is very limited so this year, bring nature indoors with a garden of edible herbs and flowers, traditional houseplants, some homegrown greens and learn to arrange them to their utmost advantage. This session will include container selection, planting, maintenance, pest control and helping your plants to thrive while it’s snowy outside. Learn to combine textures, colors and groupings. Propagation is a fun winter activity and produces plants to share with others. Make your living space more inviting with easy indoor container gardens.

Join AARP Rhode Island and URI Master Gardener, Lorraine Lee for our final session of a three-part gardening series. You'll learn to take autumn’s glorious colors of yellow, gold, red, green and red and create container gardens for your outdoor space to brighten shorter days. Lorraine will discuss planting bulbs for spring in containers, using design principles for an attractive arrangement and maintenance of your garden. Fall container gardens can add a piece of living art for the senses yet it’s easy once you understand the basics.
