Winter is nearly here, and your avian friends could use a little help.
Connect with nature by creating a backyard bird-feeding station.
Join AARP New Hampshire and naturalist and environmental educator Kelly Dwyer on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. for a free online event to learn about backyard bird feeding.
Dwyer, the founder of Nature Education Opportunities, will explore the variety of birds you can expect to see, the best feeder types and food to attract avian guests, unique strategies birds use to adapt and survive the winter weather, and tips to address challenges such as pesky squirrels and window strikes.
Dwyer will talk about the benefits of connecting with the natural world to reduce stress, improve health and embrace a more mindful approach to life and learning.
