As we cope with these stressful and turbulent times amid the coronavirus pandemic, why not get some much-needed relief with a healthy dose of laughter?

Throughout March, AARP in New York City is presenting Real Fun, Real Laughter, Real Possibilities, a virtual comedy series hosted by The Stand NYC, one of the city’s hottest comedy clubs. The eight-episode digital series kicked off Tuesday, March 9. It will run Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 5 p.m., through March 30.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, each virtual show will feature a performance by female comedians who are age 50 and older. They include Jane Condon, Karith Foster, Rhonda Hansome, and Kerri Louise - many of whom appeared on Showtime’s popular 2019 comedy special Funny Women of a Certain Age.

Each prerecorded show will appear on AARP New York’s
Facebook page, facebook.com/aarpny, and will also be available for later viewing on the site.

The free virtual episodes were created specifically for AARP members and their guests.

“It’s family-friendly stand-up, delivered from the couch,” said Antonio Coppola, associate director for AARP in New York City.
