From how-tos to where-tos to the mysteries of science, AARP Idaho’s New Knowledge Adventures offer older adults compelling avenues to learning and exploring.

Sponsored with partners Idaho State University and the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, the fall outings and classes are many and diverse, including winery tours, documentary film screenings and discussions, stargazing les sons and in-depth Medicare information sessions.

Research has shown that picking up new skills and subjects keeps the brain sharp and has a positive impact on well-being.

Classes are held in several locations, including Idaho State University in Meridian.

Register for free beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at aarp.org/id. Classes start Sept. 11. For details or to volunteer to teach a class, email aarpid@aarp.org.
