Join us for Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. Join AARP Pennsylvania and the Alzheimer’s Association Greater PA Chapter for several upcoming events which will focus on listening to community members impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia, preventing cognitive decline, and sharing resources.

  • Pittsburgh Summit on Alzheimer’s & Dementia: A Collaborative Community Conversation for the African American Community | Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 4-7pm at the Hosanna House: AARP is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association for a community conversation addressing how Alzheimer’s and other dementia impacts the African American community and ways to address it in Pittsburgh. The summit will share community resources while listening to the voices of caregivers and community leaders. A complimentary dinner will be provided.   • The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s Virtual Workshop | June 24, 2022 from 12-1pm: Alzheimer’s and other Dementias can cause changes in memory, thinking, and behavior that interfere with daily like. Join AARP and the Alzheimer’s Association for this virtual workshop to learn about the common warning signs of dementia to watch for in yourself and others. The workshop will also go over the steps to take to watch out for your health as well as how to talk to your doctor about risks.
