Join in Juneteenth Celebration

Help commemorate the end of slavery at the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival in Montgomery County, from Saturday, June 15, through Wednesday, June 19.

The festival began in 2023 as a way to highlight the history of Scotland—a predominantly African American community that dates to the late 1800s—and to help raise money for the restoration of a local church.

AARP Maryland is a sponsor of this year’s festival, which will feature a 5K run, wellness fair, carnival and other activities.
