Join AARP DC's Executive Council

Are you looking for ways to serve your community and use your talents to make a difference in the lives of people 50+ across the District?

If you have a passion for the issues facing people 50+ and their families, are a strategic thinker who has led others to achieve common goals, and knows the District well, the AARP DC Executive Council is an excellent way for you to use your talent and skill to help others.

AARP DC is looking for people with a variety of skills, experience and backgrounds who want to address the issues that matter, such as having enough savings or income to retire, access to quality and affordable food, staying in your community as you age, having access to affordable hi-speed internet, protecting older residents from fraud, and engaging the 50+ with fun and exciting social connections.

Working closely with the AARP DC State President and State Director, Executive Council members help make life better for AARP members and other residents in DC. Regular briefings on AARP issues and activities are provided by the AARP DC staff and State President, and Executive Council members are prepared to share AARP resources and positions on important issues with others in the community. Executive Council members have a great opportunity to strengthen their existing relationships and grow their network while representing AARP in the community.

If you are interested in joining the Executive Council, please send an email to dcaarp@aarp.org with your contact information and explain why you are interested in the position. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.
