Join AARP at #VivaCalleSJ for an Open Streets Festival!
Join AARP on Sunday, September 22nd from 10am-3pm for a full day of fun in San Jose!
Grab your sneakers, bike, or skates and join us for Viva CalleSJ, the annual FREE open streets program. Journey through the car-free streets of some of San Jose’s most iconic neighborhoods.
This year’s route goes from Backesto Park down Jackson Street, through Japantown and Arena Green and ends at the Rose Garden.
AARP will be located at the northwest corner of the Backesto Park hub (N. 13th Street & Jackson Avenue), where you will find other partner organizations, recreation activities, cultural events, live music, food and more!
Our booth will feature information and resources on our local work and efforts to help make communities more livable for people of all ages and abilities, which includes increasing and supporting access to open spaces and transportation. We will also have a photo booth station for you to snap your image of the day and hashtag #AgeFriendlySJ, as well as an opportunity to spin our prize wheel and receive a fun, FREE giveaway!

During #VivaCalleSJ, AARP will provide FREE pedicab rides to help folks of all ages and abilities get around and participate in the fun! Pedicabs will travel between each hub stop.
