Join a Volunteer Team in Your Community!

AARP Maryland is recruiting volunteers from the following counties!

• Allegany
• Carroll
• Frederick
• Garrett
• Harford
• Howard
• Washington

We have a variety of activities going on all over the state at any given time ranging from expos, to speaking engagements, to shred events and committee/board meetings. We are truly looking to make our volunteers the face of the communities where they live and thrive.
We have taken a hard look at our current volunteer structure and made the decision to focus our time and efforts on the development of volunteer teams. Over the entire state, we have conducted nearly 200 different events or meetings each year! It’s time now to invest our resources in spending more time with YOU.

With that, we also want our local volunteers in communities to start spending more time with one another. You are the folks living in these communities who understand the needs and desires of the people who live there. AARP Maryland staff are going to convene volunteer team meetings on a regular basis, in your counties to help get the conversations going around where we should be focusing our work and what roles you are interested in taking on. It’s like a focus group and team building exercise all in one.

We will be inviting existing volunteers and recruiting new volunteers to meet over coffee or a meal to get to know one another, and start outlining our outreach plans in each area moving forward.
