Indiana moves 2020 Primary Election to June 2

Out of an abundance of caution due to the coronavirus pandemic, the State of Indiana rescheduled its 2020 Primary Election to Tuesday, June 2.

“In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, this was an important step for the State of Indiana to take to ensure Hoosiers can more safely exercise their right to vote,” Sarah Waddle, AARP Indiana state director, said.

All Hoosiers can vote by mail during this Primary Election by requesting an absentee ballot. The deadline to return the absentee ballot request form to your county clerk is May 21, 2020 by 11:59 p.m. local time. Residents will also be able to vote early in their county clerk’s office starting 28 days before the election.

“With even more time on the calendar to consider your options and the ability to vote by mail,” Waddle said, “there’s no excuse not to participate in the democratic process.”
