AARP is hosting the monthly series, Cooking for Two With Carol Daniel, on Facebook Live. It features local eateries such as barbecue joint Gobble Stop Smokehouse and bake shop Sweet Art. Daniel, a radio host for KMOX NewsRadio 1120, chats with the chefs via livestream and takes questions from viewers.

The demonstrations will stream on facebook.com/aarpmissouri and at facebook.com/kmox1120 at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month:

  • September 21st - Carol will be grilling with DeMarco Howard, from Gobblestop Smokehouse
  • October 19th - Carol will be in the kitchen with JoJo Davis from JoJo's Seasoning, talking about Crispy Fried Chicken!
  • November 16th - (rescheduled from August) will feature holiday theme recipes

You won't want to miss any of these!

Added bonus: Viewers can enter into a sweepstakes for prizes that include a mixer, a juicer and an air fryer.

For those who miss the live-streams, recordings are available for viewing on the AARP Missouri YouTube channel. CLICK HERE for recordings.

Sheila Holm, AARP in St. Louis outreach director, said the series will provide instructions to make dinners for two, as well as honor local chefs.

“It’s also an opportunity to highlight a few of the many locally owned restaurants that truly represent the diversity and flavor of our community,” Holm said.
