The following statement is from AARP Illinois State Director Philippe Largent:

AARP Illinois is thrilled by the passage of HB 4677 by the Illinois House of Representatives. Today’s unanimous vote means Illinois’ 1.3 million caregivers are one step closer to having a central hub of information on caregiving, long-term and at home services for individuals over 50. AARP Illinois knows that family caregivers have been desperate for such a resource. Our "Pathways to Care: Experiences with Long-term Services and Supports in Illinois" study conducted over the past two years found that caregivers spend countless, unguided hours online to figure out the best course and next steps for their mom, dad or loved ones. On behalf of our 1.7 million members and all older adults, AARP Illinois urges the Senate to swiftly approve HB 4677 and bring much needed assistance caregivers who need our help now.
