Hurricane Preparedness Fair in Brownsville
We are one month away from the official start of hurricane season. This year, AccuWeather is predicting 12-14 storms, 5-7 hurricanes, and 2-4 major hurricanes. Living in the Rio Grande Valley, the threat of storms hitting is real. AARP in Brownsville, Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino and local emergency management officials want to help keep you safe. Join us Tuesday, May 21, for a Hurricane Preparedness Fair at the Brownsville Event Center. It is located at 1 Event Center in Brownsville. We'll be there from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Come learn about hurricane preparedness, must have items and documents, registering for 211 for Special Needs, evacuation routes and much more. We'll also discuss how you can prepare your home before a hurricane strikes.
You'll also have a chance to meet and talk to the CBS 4 meteorologist. Chief Meteorologist Bryan Hale will be at the event talking about the 2019 hurricane outlook.
