Honoring Native American Elders in Oklahoma

AARP Oklahoma is seeking nominations for its 17th annual Native American Elder Honors. The event spotlights the contributions of Native American elders to their communities, families, tribal nations and country.

Since 2009, AARP Oklahoma has recognized more than 700 elders from the state’s nearly 40 tribal nations. Past honorees include teachers, veterans, artists, tribal leaders, cultural preservationists and everyday heroes.

The nomination deadline is March 31. Go to aarp.org/OKNativeAmericanElderHonors.
