An 1-hour presentation where an American Bone Health Peer Educator will share the basics of bone health and why it should be important to you. Do you know what osteoporosis is? Do you know how to prevent it and how it’s treated? Are you ready to take steps to stay strong and independent for life?

Eating for Healthy Bones: Thursday, March 11 @ noon

An 1-hour presentation covering nutrition and bone health. By the end of the program, participants will understand their bone health nutritional requirements, how to get the nutrition from food, and will determine where their gaps are in nutritional requirements.

Freedom From Fractures: Thursday, March 18 @ noon

An 1-hour presentation covering fracture risk. By the end of the program, participants will understand the factors that affect the risk of having a fracture in the next 10 years, will calculate their fracture risk, and have a take-home risk sheet outlining the next steps to reduce risk.

Stepping Out Strong: Tuesday, March 23 @ noon

An 1-hour presentation covering fall prevention. By the end of the program, participants will assess their balance confidence, test their balance with a single-leg stand, learn simple exercises to build into their daily routines to improve strength and balance, and leave with ways to identify fall risks, exercises and a goal for improvement.
