Starting or joining a community or school garden is a great way to give back. A community garden can:

  • help you connect with the community
  • provide fresh food to those in need
  • preserve green space in your neighborhood
  • get you outdoors where can enjoy nature up close

AARP's Create The Good, working with Hands on Network and the American Community Garden Association have developed a toolkit to help you start or join a community garden in your area.

Whether you start or join a garden, remember, the end results are worth the wait!
