Get Ready to Vote in the 2024 Elections

South Dakota’s primary is Tuesday, June 4, and AARP wants to ensure voters are aware of key information.

A 2023 law banned the use of ballot drop boxes. AARP South Dakota will keep members posted if other bills emerge that could affect voters. Email sdaarp@aarp.org to request updates.

Absentee voting for the primary begins Friday, April 19. The voter registration deadline is Monday, May 20.

Polls are open on primary day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. For more details, go to the South Dakota Secretary of State's website. Also visit aarp.org/sdvotes.
