Get Outdoors With Free Hiking Trips in North Dakota

Posted on 06/30/22 by The AARP Bulletin

AARP is encouraging North Dakotans to get active and explore nature with free hiking events at two scenic state parks this summer.

During each event, rangers will talk about the park and its history, as well as provide guidance on the trails. AARP will supply park passes, water and snacks. The hikes are set for:

Cross Ranch State Park on Wednesday, July 27, beginning at 11 a.m. The park is located at 1403 River Road in Center, about 45 miles north of Bismarck.

Turtle River State Park on Wednesday, Aug. 10, beginning at 11 a.m. It is located at 3084 Park Ave. NE in Arvilla, about 22 miles west of Grand Forks.

To register for a hike, go to aarp.cvent.com/HikingND or call 877-926-8300. An AARP webinar also offers hiking tips and best practices. Go to youtube.com/AARPND.
