Get Moving at New Fitness Park

Posted on 10/31/19 by TheAARPBulletin

Regular exercise helps to delay, prevent or manage costly chronic illnesses. Yet according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 31 million older Americans are inactive.

AARP is working to change that by building fitness parks in every state; Washington, D.C.; Puerto Rico; and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sponsored by AARP and organized by FitLot, Delaware’s new fit park opened in September at Herman Holloway Park, at North Lombard Street and East Seventh Street in Wilmington.

The facility includes exercise equipment that can be adapted for a wide range of abilities and routines. To learn more, visit aarp.org/de.
