Get money back: Apply for ND property and rent relief

Posted on 12/04/25

We're fighting for you. AARP fought hard to ensure renters, owners and veterans could benefit from North Dakota’s tax relief programs. Find out if you’re eligible.

  • Renters Refund: If you rent your home, are 65 or older or permanently disabled with income under $70,000, you may qualify for up to $600 in rental refund.
  • Homestead Credit: If you own your home, are 65 or older or permanently disabled with income of under $70,000 you may be eligible for up to $2,000 in property tax relief.
  • Primary Residence Credit: North Dakota residents who own a home and reside in it as their primary residence qualify for a state property tax credit.
  • Disabled Veteran’s Property Tax Credit: This tax credit is available to veterans of the United States Armed Forces with a disability of 50% or greater.
