AARP members have a chance to experience some of the state’s unique attractions through Fun With Purpose excursions offered by AARP Hawaii: whale watching, a chocolate farm tour, the Imiloa Astronomy Center, the Big Island’s Tropical Botanical Garden, brewpub gatherings and more.

All the excursions are available to members and families for free or for a modest fee. To stay apprised of what activities are coming up and when and to register, sign up to receive AARP Hawaii emails at aarp.org/hi, under “Sign Up & Stay Connected.”

Announcements will also be posted on AARP Hawaii’s Facebook page. Events typically fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended. The excursions are a good way to avoid isolation, and research shows that socializing is a key to healthy aging.
