AARP Texas is encouraging service-minded older adults to apply for two internship positions in the City of Fort Worth involving financial education for area families.

Those who are selected for the roles will provide education to low-income families on matters pertaining to financial health, managing credit and debt, and the dangers of predatory financial services.

By serving in the internships, recipients can earn a paycheck while strengthening the community, receive an educational award or additional cash stipend after completing a year of service, and bring their years of experience to local government.

The positions are a result of a project involving AARP and Cities of Service, a nonprofit organization that helps mayors build stronger cities.
