Feel the Rhythm With Virtual Music, Drumming Sessions

Posted on 09/30/21 by The AARP Bulletin

AARP is hosting virtual music and drumming sessions each month through the end of the year.

Participants will learn some music history while having an opportunity to make their own music. No previous experience is needed. Even households without an instrument can participate with a cardboard box, bowl, pot or pan, along with a pair of spoons.

The classes are led by Kevin “Bujo” Jones, a Michigan-based percussionist, bandleader and educator. All ages are welcome.

The online events are held at 11 a.m. on the third Saturday of every month through December. The next date is Oct. 16. To register, go to aarp.org/mi and click on Events. The site also offers recordings of previous sessions.
