Enjoy a Free Movie Screening of a 1940s Classic

Posted on 11/30/21 by The AARP Bulletin

The COVID-19 pandemic reinforced the lure of a cozy movie night at home, safe with household members and vaccinated friends.

AARP Idaho is offering residents a free screening of the classic The Best Years of Our Lives, on Monday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. MT. The film, which swept the 1947 Academy Awards, stars Myrna Loy, Fredric March and Dana Andrews in a story about three World War II veterans who return home to civilian life in small-town America.

Wildly popular at the box office, The Best Years of Our Lives was one of the first 25 movies selected by the Library of Congress for inclusion in the National Film Registry of “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant” films.
