Doggone Great July Events with Florida CraftArt

Posted on 07/17/19

AARP Tampa Bay is proud to sponsor Florida CraftArt’s Woof, Meow, Chirp and Slither, a series dedicated to bring you and your furry friends together in an artful atmosphere. The series is filled with pet-friendly events throughout the summer, with many doggone great events held in July and August.

Join the Florida CraftArt crew and SPCA Tampa Bay on July 20 to recognize St. Petersburg’s recent achievement of a “Better Cities for Pets” certification. The certification recognizes the city’s commitment to becoming pet-friendly by evaluating 12 categories including homes, shelters, businesses, and more. St. Petersburg is one of the first inaugural cities in the U.S. to receive this certification.

“SPCA Tampa Bay is excited to partner with Florida CraftArt to celebrate the unique relationship humans have with animals through this exhibit,” said Martha Boden, chief executive officer of SPCA Tampa Bay. “At SPCA Tampa Bay, we call it ‘spreading the humanimality’.”

SPCA Tampa Bay will host a day of presentations to help people with their pets and those who are considering adopting a new pet to help them make the best connection possible. The day’s event includes a visit from the Pinellas County Animal Services Mobile Adoption Unit and a panel discussion with a demonstration on various pet care tips and tricks from good grooming to doggy daycare.

Later in the month, Pinellas County Animal Services, Hospice and DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis, P.A. will give presentations on pet planning. These expert speakers will also provide their advice to help you ensure the safety and well-being of your pets.

“Our attorney is looking forward to estate planning basics and how to include your beloved pet in your plan so you can ensure they are taken care of when you no longer can,” said Simone Bennett DeLoach, director of marketing for DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis, P.A.

Admission to both events is free and pets are welcome!
