Dana Marie Kennedy and Brenda Holt Selected as FSL 50 Over 50 Honorees
AARP Arizona State Director Dana Marie Kennedy and Associate State Director of Community Outreach Brenda Holt have been selected as recipients of the Inaugural 50 Over 50 Awards presented by FSL (Foundation for Senior Living). Honorees were recognized for their outstanding service to aging Arizonans at FSL’s 50th anniversary event held on October 22 at the Renaissance Hotel in Phoenix.
In an era where award lists often highlight the achievements of younger generations, FSL is proud to launch an innovative and essential recognition that showcases the important contributions of aging adults. These individuals possess immense wisdom and strength, and their efforts have significantly enriched our society.
“This award recognizes older adults whose tireless commitments have woven safety and well-being into the very fabric of our community,” said Tami Bohannon, president and CEO of FSL. “Many of these individuals have dedicated their time and treasures to our community for years. We applaud their efforts and appreciate their service and commitment to ensure future generations of Arizonans will continue to thrive.”
Dana Marie Kennedy is the State Director for AARP Arizona, advocating for seniors, working families, and women. Under her leadership, AARP addresses affordable healthcare, prescription drugs, and long-term care issues. She has received multiple awards, including Social Worker of the Year, and holds degrees in social work and gerontology.

Holt holds master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix and has worked with PetSmart Corporate Charities.
FSL accepted nominations over the summer and judges selected the inaugural 50. Their significant contributions align with FSL’s mission to promote health, independence and dignity for all. Their work has improved the quality of life for adults across Arizona, helped foster inclusive communities and advanced policies that support healthy aging.
The 50th Anniversary Celebration featured a Healthy Aging Panel, including insights from City of Tempe Mayor Corey Woods, State Director for AARP Arizona, Dana Marie Kennedy, and Dr. Eric Luster with Seniors Rising.
