COVID-19 Vaccine Tele-Town Hall for Cameron County

Posted on 02/12/21

On Thursday, February 25, at 2 p.m., AARP is hosting a live tele-town hall event to help keep the Cameron County community informed about COVID-19 vaccine distribution and how the coronavirus is impacting the 50+ population.

The tele-town hall will feature Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino and Dr. James Castillo of the Cameron County Health Department. These experts will take your questions about the vaccine and access for older adults, caregivers, and the general population.

An emergency order is currently in effect in Cameron County that limits gatherings and calls for bar closures. The twelfth amendment also calls for the continuation of a mandatory mask mandate. Public officials are encouraging residents to shelter in place, and only leave their home when performing essential services or essential travel.

As COVID-19 continues to impact the lives of Texas, this live tele-town hall event serves as an important bridge between Cameron County residents and local experts.
