Cooking up history, tradition, culture

Hispanic Heritage Month is a national celebration from September 15 to October 15. This annual observance honors the contributions of Hispanics, their history and their culture. AARP in Houston is proud to profile Hispanic residents and their contributions.

We begin this cultural spotlight with a look at Irma Gonzalez Galvan.

Ms. Galvan is a local entrepreneur who has captivated people all over the world with her cooking. Her now famous restaurant sits in the heart of Houston. She said her story starts with giving back to the neighborhood where she grew up as well as the downtown area.
