Come Celebrate Kentucky Derby Week with AARP

Posted on 02/29/20 by The AARP Bulletin

AARP’s first-ever Kentucky Derby float will roll down Broadway in the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade this year.

One of the highlights of Derby week, the parade will draw hundreds of thousands of spectators along the 17-block route through downtown Louisville on Thursday, April 30. You can also catch the event from home, as it will be broadcast live on WAVE3 TV.

AARP members can get an advance look at the float during a free parade preview party, on Tuesday, April 28, at the Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, in Louisville.

The float will showcase AARP volunteers and their service to members, residents 50-plus and the public.
