Celebrating Medicare's Anniversary and Providing Resources To Answer Your Questions

Posted on 07/28/22

July 30 of this year marks the 57th anniversary of President Lyndon B. Johnson sitting next to former President Harry S. Truman and signing Medicare into law. In 1945, President Truman had proposed a national health insurance that did not discriminate regarding beneficiaries, but it would take twenty years for his vision to be realized in the form of Medicare. Today, millions of Americans could not imagine life without it!

Did you know? In the state of Maine, over 333,000 individuals rely on the program. Medicare works to provide health insurance and financial security to older adults and other eligible individuals. Many of these recipients would not have access to the medical care they need if it weren't for Medicare.

Do you have questions about enrollment, changes to the program in 2022 or need more information for you or a loved one? Click on any of the below links to get started with up-to-date information and other resources.
