Getting older shouldn’t be equated with orthopedics, fraud and sickness. Rather, it should mean feeling fabulous, dating and having fun.

AARP Texas is helping members in the Dallas-Fort Worth area celebrate aging through its annual Disrupt Aging event, on Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in North Richland Hills.

Residents can participate in activities such as square dancing, karaoke and fly-fishing demonstrations, as well as archeological presentations.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Grand Hall at the NRH Centre, 6000 Hawk Ave., in North Richland Hills.

A truck to shred documents containing sensitive information is expected to be on-site.

This marks the second year of the popular volunteer-led event, which more than 200 people attended in 2018.
