Caregiving Conferences Scheduled in Springfield and Columbia

AARP Missouri and the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Missouri Chapter invites family caregivers in the Springfield and Columbia areas to gather and learn best practices in self-care and caregiving, discover community resources that can help as they care for a loved one, and decrease isolation by connecting with others who share a similar experience.

These free events will bring together caregivers to build their confidence is providing care for someone living with dementia. Topics covered include:

· Building foundations of caregiving
· Supporting independence
· Communicating effectively
· Responding to dementia-related behavior
· Exploring care and support services
