Calling All Volunteers to Join in and Help Out

Posted on 06/30/22 by The AARP Bulletin

The Volunteer State needs some volunteers.

As AARP Tennessee returns to in-person events, it’s looking for people to help inform older adults about topics that affect them. The state office is especially interested in recruiting residents with an interest in fraud prevention, caregiving and veterans issues.

You don’t need to be an expert, and AARP Tennessee will train those willing to help. What’s most important is being comfortable engaging with people and having a passion for advocacy. Some events will be virtual, so knowledge of technologies like Zoom is a plus.

There’s no minimum time commitment, but there may be in-state travel for some events. Interested? Call 866-295-7274 or email tnvolunteer@aarp.org. Learn more about AARP volunteers at aarp.org/volunteer.
